HEXED Released in Trade Paperback

I’ve written well over a dozen different titles and close to a hundred single issues of comics since I started way back in 2005, from my very first series Second Wave to the current 28 Days Later.   And though I am terribly proud of all the work I have done, there are two titles that stand out as my favorites: DINGO and HEXED.

Not only is HEXED one of my personal favorite stories, but I am just in love with the way it looks.  Emma Rios and Cris Peter did a stellar job with the art and the Paul Pope cover is one of the best to ever grace one of my books (and I’ve had many amazing covers).  Just take a gander at the pages below and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

HEXED is the story of a young woman named Lucifer who makes her living as a thief in a magical and mystical underworld, stealing bad things from bad people.  Her pilfering hand is guided by her benefactor, Val, the curator of a prestigious art gallery and collector of things both dangerous and fantastical.  In HEXED, Lucifer finds herself caught between a rock and a hard place when an old “employer” comes looking to rehire her.

You can find copies of HEXED at your local comics shop, bookstore, or online.  Go and give it a read.  I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Dear Mr. Nelson, I just wanted to tell you that I love your work, before all the Hexed trade and your Dingo novel. While your writing is excellent when refining other people's stuff it is stellar when you are working on your own themes. I hope that the Dingo novel sees print and that you will continue both Hexed and Dingo eventually. Best regards from Vienna, Austria Wolf

Thank you so much. I have to say, of everything that I've written, Hexed and Dingo are my two favorites. It certainly do hope that someday I'll be able to return to those two titles and write more.

And even though I enjoy writing projects in other people's sandboxes, there's something incredibly wonderful about writing in my own. I really enjoy having that kind of creative freedom.

Thank you so much for reading and for your support!

So where are you going from here? Boom! has not solicitated any new material of yours for August. I am really seeing forward for more of your work.

I have a new series with BOOM! coming out at the end of this year. I think there will be a #0 issue in September so look for it in the next Previews.

Also, I am a part of the big DC revamp this September. I can't give any specifics right now, but as DC rolls out its PR machine over the next few weeks I'll be able to give details about what I'm doing. So stay tuned!

And I would have dreamt you and Emma Rios would be doing something with Dr. Strange over there at Marvel...
But whatever it will be, I will go on buying your stuff.
